For this project, I had designed the ‘CASE’ logo, taken the photography, directed the concept and animated the flash.
I had been helping with Dekko – a fab design and manufacture company ever since I had partaken in an university exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham. At the time, I had found some interesting methods to give sheet polypropylene sheets structure and rigidity by scoring, folding them. I had found Dekko at one of the stands – they made beautifully designed and crafted portfolios for designers (especially design students).
I had worked with the owner in his family business for many years on a frequent basis (weekends during university and on short-term projects after graduation) and learnt many along the way. I implemented the use of AutoCad to produce the die-cutting tools to cut the polypropylene sheets. Using AutoCad meant we could control the precision required in these folios.
