Xiao Yu Cartoons

Xiao Yu Cartoons are concept cartoons – which made fun out of those office situations probably only your colleagues will understand. I illustrated these using Flash. Luckily, the bosses at the time also laughed along with the rest of us when I had emailed it to the entire team. :-P

The inspiration came from a stuffed-toy fish purchased from Shanghai Aquarium by a then-colleague Matt Mayer. Matt’s one of the smartest, funniest and hardworking geeks around. Check out his site and his work – especially www.exploreshanghai.com – an interactive metro map for Shanghai.

In the above example: Check what time it is when Xiao Yu checks out the clock whilst someone shouts ‘Breakfast!’. In 2006, the company was just starting up and ‘Breakfast!’ was a call for Monday ‘breakfasts’ where the bosses (from Germany) would treat us to a western breakfast with nice bread, cold meats and selection of imported cheeses and more!

Created in 2006.

I had worked for over 4 years in Ideawise Ltd. and The NetCircle and really had a great time – and made some really good friends through it. It started with about 10 members of staff to over 50 members now.
@everyone I had worked in this company – thank you!
